Interesting thought here...
I work in a call center troubleshooting people's issues. Woman calls in pissed off for various reasons. I'm on the phone with her for a little over an hour, all issues solved, customer is happy when call ends. I get in trouble for talking too long with her. What is wrong with this picture?

I see nothing wrong with this picture. It happens no matter what call center you work at. In fact, a co-worker once told me when she worked at Adelphia, supervisors would come by and tell you to get off the phone. In fact, it'd be told to you so loud that the customer you're on the phone with can hear it. Fun ey?
Just because it happens everywhere doesn't necessarily make it correct. So, something is wrong with that picture, especially considering we work at a company that prides itself on the "customer experience". Blah.
